One by One | Variable | Fibers-Dye-Cochineal |
One by One was created to represent the strength and community of women within Kosovo. The cones created to make One by One are made from various cellulose papers. Each cone was dyed with Cochineal dye; a type of dye that was highly valued during the Ottoman Empire. This traditional dye was heavily used in the region to dye rugs and textiles just to name a few. Each piece is as unique as an individual person baring different traits. Combining these ideas and concept together is why it was chosen and intertwines with the exhibition title, Métier.
